Told my hematologists about all the pain I’ve been having in random places and his suggestion was a steroid taper? Anyone else take a steroid for bone pain?
I’m on maintenance of 5Mg, my pain will come in my ankle, hip or back through the end of my cycle, I will take Dexamethazone 4mg for a couple of days that seems to work for me
I was given Zometa for the first time but the drip rate was 8 minutes. Upon reading about zometa, the minimum time states 15 minutes. Anyway, the next morning I could not breath it felt like I had a collapsed lung and I hurt all over. I went to the ED and they assured me I was getting air, they took a CAT scan and xrays of my lungs with nothing to show. My test in a month shows an increase on IGA 1800 to 2130. I’m not on meds yet. Also slightly anemic with a sed rate of 131 since Nov. I’m a lambda free light chain with a 1q which puts me in high risk. One lyric lesion in L5 vertebrae with a plasmacytome in same location. Not on meds yet. I’m so conflicted about the potential side effects that velcade and zomenta may cause on me. Also, about future sct? I have a 1000 questions.

I have a parathyroid that had an incredible work ethic. One of it's nodules decided to work overtime and did a dang fine job of draining my skeletal system of bone density. This was like 10 to 15 years go and I underwent surgery to remove the nodule with the adenoma.
