I was switched to Arredia. I had flu like symptoms from zometa. Everyone is different.

Like magapapermaker, my oncologist also just started me on Zometa every 3 months. I’m also in remission and my calcium results are within normal range. It’s more of a preventative move on his part.

I was given Zometa for the first time but the drip rate was 8 minutes. Upon reading about zometa, the minimum time states 15 minutes. Anyway, the next morning I could not breath it felt like I had a collapsed lung and I hurt all over. I went to the ED and they assured me I was getting air, they took a CAT scan and xrays of my lungs with nothing to show. I had severe bone pain from Zometa, as well as a respiratory infection, but it only lasted days. If you have pain lasting longer, then it should be checked out.

I’m on maintenance of 5Mg, my pain will come in my ankle, hip or back through the end of my cycle, I will take Dexamethazone 4mg for a couple of days that seems to work for me

Anybody Here Takes Prolia Every 6 Months, Instead Of Xgeva Or Zometa Every Month For Bone Strength?
