I am close to 94 yrs and will start Velcade next week. Where is it injected and what are the side affects?
I have velcade shots for maintenance 2 times a month in upper arm no side effects
Does anyone have belly bloat? This last month it’s gotten worse. Also I’ve been waking up to throwing up just water though. Not nauseous just waking up to it. Last night was bad. Threw out my pillow and had to shower at 3am. 🤷♀️😞
I had to change the meds I was taking because it was making me sick to my stomach and bad headaches. I also do not take any meds without eating something first. I would ask your Dr. and see if they… read more
On first cycle of VRD. First Velcade injection went well. Alittle redness that went away in two days. My second injection caused brusing and a rash
I did some research and their is a bubble technique that is recommended for the syringe. This is suppose to lessen any injection site swelling. We tried it today. So far so good! I was surprised that the nurses were not aware of this technique
Has anyone else experience injection site reactions with Velcade? Or heard of the bubble… read more
I was diagnosed in Sept 2020 with High Risk MM. I am in early stage without any bone problems. I am taking 10mg Revlimid every day. I am wondering what others are doing for maintenance. Thanks
It’s to help increase WBC.
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member, hello Colleen. What type of blood builder pills do you take?
I hear it could cause heart issues and Dr says I will need to be monitored regularly with EKG to see if my base line changes. Is anyone currently taking this new drug?
Thanks,
Jim
New patient here with this treatment. Have bone aches and pains in my side and back and joints. Is this common?
Pain is common, even after achieving remission. Usually caused by compression fractures (even ones that have healed) pressing on nerves.
Just was diagnosed on Wednesday and they are going to start Velcade, Revlimid and Decadron next week. I was reading that you must take a blood thinner with the Revlimid. Oncologist hematologist recommended a baby aspirin. Is this what everyone else is taking with Revlimid to prevent blood clots. Or are you taking something stronger? The risk of blood clots makes me nervous.
Yes, that’s what I take since 2019. Works ok. I’m in remission since also.
