I was given Zometa for the first time but the drip rate was 8 minutes. Upon reading about zometa, the minimum time states 15 minutes. My first ZOMETA was Feb 14th along with Dara fastpro . Didn’t feel weak for several days . Last week I decided to stay with MM
SPECIALIST at the hospital and they Will not give me ZOMETA again for 3 months . Had a tooth break etc . , I’m glad I will have a break from getting it .
I have had numerous Zometa infusions and never experienced any side effects. Was having a monthly infusion...now I am having an infusion every four months...No effects what so ever.
Had my second dose over an hour rather than 8 minutes and the next day I was just achy. I did drink a lot and took tylenol. I was fine the next day.
Sorry to hear that but I understand as my first dose really made me sick. I couldn't move with out vomiting. I received it in an IV and they now give two bags of fluid and then the bag of zometa and that makes a huge difference. Super hydrate before you get the drug. Good luck!
Hi Lin. I had Zometa for 2 years. It is recommended that you see a dentist before starting Zometa. I would get all dental work done before starting Zometa. I make sure I have excellent mouth hygiene. I floss and brush like crazy. I always drink lots of water especially on Zometa infusion days.
