Newly diagnosed MM. IGG lambda light chain and on my second cycle of RVd. Recent blood work done shows my IGG level dropped from about 6000 to 1144. Kappa light chain serum went from 500 to 23. Albumin 3.4 and protein total 5.9. I don’t see anywhere on the blood work where it shows M protein level. Would it be listed by another name? Not sure which lab levels are the most important? Thanks
I know the m spike should be undetected.
Hi. I saw my regular oncologist today and brought up the suspicious monoclonal immunoglobulin in my gamma region. I asked if it might be from Dara which I just started last month. He said NO and left it at that. He reminded me that this never goes away, I know, and that I’m still at undetectable levels. If I was, why would this show? He also
Reminded me that my remission would be short due to my genetic add ons what a happy guy. Hope I can prove him wrong.
Apparently when our Syracuse doctor sent a report to our Florida oncologist, he said that my husband has IgA Myeloma. We had never heard it classified this way before, and our Florida oncologist also said that none of his tests showed that. Wondering if anyone here has IgA Myeloma and if so, what test was done to determine that?
Serum Immunofixation Result: Immunofixation shows IgA monoclonal protein with kappa light chain specificity. The result confirmed on concentration. igG normal, igA normal, igM 23 low. S, Qn, Free K+L… read more

I am three years in remission and I just got blood work done but my Kappa light chains were elevated but my Lambda light chains were normal. Can anybody advise me on why this could happen. They are normally both in range but my Kappa is really elevated. I am trying to have faith but my protein electrophoresis is not back yet which shows whether there is any monoclonal proteins in my blood or not.. asking for advice and prayers. I have already had one stem cell transplant and chemo to put my MM… read more
My doctor also recommended watching my paraprotein counts.
Newest test mentions Bence Jones. I have not seen this on previous tests.
I'm doing great actually. The first couple of years were pretty rough. Thankfully myeloma is very treatable 💕💖
I had a bone marrow biopsy and that's what told me I had multiple Myeloma
Thanks for sharing!

totally agree. Insist on sedation for bone marrow. Don't suffer needlessly. Find closest specialty clinic and have all your specialists from there if at all possible. If you regulary take ibuprofen… read more
My SPEP after 8 months induction therapy says that there is no paraprotein detected, but it shows above normal alpha 1 fraction and alpha 2 fraction percent so I’m pretty sure I’m not in “remission”. Is paraprotein the same as M spike? Is it correct that light chain MM may not show M sspike at all?
