Newest test mentions Bence Jones. I have not seen this on previous tests.

No, they’ve been out of wack since diagnosis 2022. Most recent free serum numbers were Lambda 33.26 Kappa 6.85 Ratio .20 The Lambda shows up slightly elevated every six months.
I am just so much more fortunate than others at this point.

I can’t imagine how much those who are in full blown MM grieve over the lives they used to have, the person they used to be. Accepting the new normal, I am sure, takes a lot of courage.
Thank you so much for your input… and your time. I know you have a lot on your plate right now. Keep me posted.♥️

The comment about the Bence Jones proteins was included in the recent test that included a free light chain test. Light chains are up but my bun and creatine are still within normal range. My last bone marrow biopsy was almost 2 years ago. 15 to 20% involvement.. I’m sure Doc will want to do one again this spring. I see him later this month. Thanks for the info. So much to know.

Prayers for your husband. I hope he is doing well. Be good to yourself.♥️

I'm doing great actually. The first couple of years were pretty rough. Thankfully myeloma is very treatable 💕💖

Keep me posted. Was your serum free light chains normal?

Hi Suzanne, I don't think the urine is also a good indicator of how much monoclonal protein is in our blood and marrow. They usually run a free light chain test, plus a serum protein electrophoresis and immunofixation. But I know that Bence Jones proteins from light chain myeloma can really clog up our kidneys. So drinking loads of water and checking your bun and creatinine are very important. When was your last bone marrow biopsy?
