This is a better defined test of the Kappa and Lamda heavy and light chains
This test is available for all Ig types. It more accurate than SPEP and IFE
If so, where are you getting it from and is it covered by insurance
I’ll be looking into that and add to this Post
Mass Spectrometry Testing (MST) is a far more accurate way to test for MM activity but I think it’s only available at limited facilities
If you’re getting MST, where ?
Thank you @A MyMyelomaTeam Member I'll definitely do that!
I will it is new he passed out about a year ago and fell into our wall corner he put a big gash in his head and injured his neck.. that's when it all started
Yes, they are both the same
Does anybody can tell me if insurances are cooperating on paying for these cancer medicines and approximately how much these pharmaceuticals charge for them. I'm still waiting for the Clinic to get an approval from my insurance, I have Humana. My son is investigating if Laetrile fight cancer cells as many doctors say so, 500 mg. 4 times a day, but it could be dangerous?
Thank you.

When one is diagnosed with MM, is MGUS and/or Smoldering MM always a precursor which goes undiagnosed until the full-blown MM diagnosis? Just wondering how long before my husband's MM diagnosis in March 2019 might he have had MGUS and/or Smoldering MM and no one identified it. He is of the opinion that he had it long before, since the pelvic lesions and the spine vertebrae deteriorations had advanced so far.
I was never diagnosed with MGUS. I went right to SMM then active
Hi - I developed a pain on my left side (by the rib cage & on the side) about 2 weeks ago. I went to the walk-in dr last Wednesday. They tested my urine it has a little blood & my wb count was a little elevated. They said it might a kidney stone & told me to the er for ct scan. I don’t have a kidney stone but the found lyric lesions on lumbar & thoracic vertebrae. My blood work looks good & no other unusual findings were found on the ct scan. No weight loss. My question is how long did you… read more
Wow…I can relate! So did the kypho procedure helped you? I wonder if left alone the vertebrae can heal itself or not, seems the majority are helped by kyphoplasty or Vertabreaplasty tho. So confusing… read more
I currently have Smouldering Myeloma and am not having any treatment just being monitored every three months. My doctor tells me what my light chain levels are and this seems to be the most important thing that they are monitoring
My light chain levels are currently 1500 having risen from 350 at the start. They seem to rise by 100 every three months
My doctor said earlier in the year that I would probably need treatment next year (2024)
I was wondering if anyone can remember what their light… read more
Yes, I had SMM for 9 years then it became active.
So I've heard alot about bone lesions. I'm wondering if someone could tell me what the pain is like.
I have lower back pain for about a month and and today it's like my whole back hurts. It's just pain tho.
I'm not sure if it's from the MM or just pain. I'm still waiting to meet my new Dr on the 20th so I've been unmonitored for 3 months. I will have blood test this week.
I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how the pain starts.
I have lesions in my pelvis. As long as I stay off of my feet they don't bother me. If I'm on my feet more than an hour the pain gets quite uncomfortable. I'm a biker and they flare up after about ten… read more
