Hi. I saw my regular oncologist today and brought up the suspicious monoclonal immunoglobulin in my gamma region. I asked if it might be from Dara which I just started last month. He said NO and left it at that. He reminded me that this never goes away, I know, and that I’m still at undetectable levels. If I was, why would this show? He also
Reminded me that my remission would be short due to my genetic add ons what a happy guy. Hope I can prove him wrong.
M-spike 5.1 (began) now 0.5
After 5 cycles of Revlimid
In cycle 6 currently
M Spike is the main one thats the tumor market
Then ya look @ what myeloma you have IGA IGG IGM
I am three years in remission and I just got blood work done but my Kappa light chains were elevated but my Lambda light chains were normal. Can anybody advise me on why this could happen. They are normally both in range but my Kappa is really elevated. I am trying to have faith but my protein electrophoresis is not back yet which shows whether there is any monoclonal proteins in my blood or not.. asking for advice and prayers. I have already had one stem cell transplant and chemo to put my MM… read more
My doctor also recommended watching my paraprotein counts.
Right now my parathyroid and calcium are too high. I'm waiting for an appointment with an endocrinologist.
Thank you! That is a suggestion my doctor made.
Newly diagnosed MM. IGG lambda light chain and on my second cycle of RVd. Recent blood work done shows my IGG level dropped from about 6000 to 1144. Kappa light chain serum went from 500 to 23. Albumin 3.4 and protein total 5.9. I don’t see anywhere on the blood work where it shows M protein level. Would it be listed by another name? Not sure which lab levels are the most important? Thanks
I know the m spike should be undetected.
I’m sorry you are dealing with myeloma
I can only be grateful for how much research has been done and the success they’ve made in treating myeloma just in the past 5-10 years
Sending you love and… read more
Can someone explain if there’s a difference in “Light Chain MM” between “Kappa” and “Lambda” light chain MMs?
I get a panel every three months; except for urine; so far so good.
I'm not as educated on the blood results,, so I go by the range
I research but probably not as thoroughly as I could
Researchers discover that blocking ephrin B2 signaling can stop multiple myeloma growth

Cedars-Sinai Cancer investigators have discovered a protein expressed on multiple myeloma cancer cells that drives disease growth and development. The new study found that blocking part of the protein's unique signaling pathway stops myeloma growth in culture and in laboratory mice. Their study was published in the… read more
Apparently when our Syracuse doctor sent a report to our Florida oncologist, he said that my husband has IgA Myeloma. We had never heard it classified this way before, and our Florida oncologist also said that none of his tests showed that. Wondering if anyone here has IgA Myeloma and if so, what test was done to determine that?
