When one is diagnosed with MM, is MGUS and/or Smoldering MM always a precursor which goes undiagnosed until the full-blown MM diagnosis? Just wondering how long before my husband's MM diagnosis in March 2019 might he have had MGUS and/or Smoldering MM and no one identified it. He is of the opinion that he had it long before, since the pelvic lesions and the spine vertebrae deteriorations had advanced so far.
I was never diagnosed with MGUS. I went right to SMM then active
My IgG and IgM are low low and the IgA is high high and the Kappa Light Chain is rising... so I was at UPenn yesterday and received guidance for the IviG treatments. Thoughts?

I did not have a stem cell transplant immediately due to heart issue. that has been resolved. I am now debating on staying on just the maintenance regimin because it is working or go ahead and go through the SCT. Any recommendations? Is the stress of the transplant worth it?
If the doctor has declared that you are in remission, it won’t hurt continuing maintenance treatment till the myeloma relapses. That could be a long while and might be worth it. Based on your blood… read more

Steve is 69 years old, & a 14 year MM survivor , & just completed his second autologous stem cell transplant 4.5 months ago.
I can't tell you. I have had MM for 10 years in April. It's great that it's autologous no rejection. Prayers for you, Please if possible keep us up-to-date if you are able.
