I Am Looking For Members Who Have Gone Through The Ivig Infusions - What Has Your Experience Been With This Treatment?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

My IgG and IgM are low low and the IgA is high high and the Kappa Light Chain is rising... so I was at UPenn yesterday and received guidance for the IviG treatments. Thoughts?

I have had four infusions two were in the chemo unit then for some reason they said that I had to take them at home but once we did it a few times we realized it wasn’t as complicated as the booklet made it out to be. We also had the home care home nurse come out to the house three times to show us how it was done and she was learning the procedure for the first time also. I have 4 needles placed in different areas around my belly but you can do it in several different places then first you have to load the two syringes because I need two too get the proper dosage then you load the syringe into the pump and hook up the four lines and prime them then you have to clamp off the lines then insert the bneedles and they are tiny needles so you barely feel anything just a little poke then you unclamp the lines and set the flow meter on the line from the syringe and start the infusion. My firs syringe has 50 mils. of the drug Cuvitru and takes about an hour then you close the flow meter and clamp the lines closed and unload the pump and load the 20 mils. syringe and open everything up and start the process again which took about 20 minutes then you close everything and take and unload the needles and put bandages over the needle sites and put everything in a sharps container and you’re done. I know it sounds really complicated but once you do it the first time you will be fine plus they give you a step by step guide booklet that walks you through the whole process. Good luck. I hope that helps.

Jessica,
The K2 can be in a bottle of supplements by itself, or combined with D3. I like Nordic’s D3 & K2 gummie, because I really hate swallowing pills. I just realized now that I am typing, I forgot to take my supplements today. No wonder I had no energy!

Thanks Sally... can you sleep through the fatigue?

I have been getting IVIg infusions every four weeks along with the Darzalex FasPro injection. My side effects are fatigue, but I’m sure that’s from the Darzalex, not the infusion.
