Yes, absolutely — and this is one of the more hopeful aspects of living with myeloma. Many people do experience periods that feel relatively "normal," particularly during remission or when treatment is working well.

Remission means the myeloma has been reduced to levels that don't show up on tests. During these periods, many people notice real improvements in how they feel, including:

- More energy from higher red blood cell counts
- Less bone pain
- Fewer signs of active disease
- An overall sense of improved wellbeing It's worth knowing that myeloma typically follows a pattern of treatment, response, and sometimes relapse. Most people respond well to their first treatment for around two to three years, which can feel like a meaningful stretch of normal life.

Even after a relapse, new treatments are available, and another period of response — and normality — is often possible.

The key is staying connected with your care team, keeping up with regular checkups, and tracking any changes in how you feel. Those "normal" windows are real, and many people make the most of them.

I was diagnosed in March '24 with stage 3 MM. I experienced "normality" throughout the entire process, induction, maintenance, remission and now off all meds going on 2 months. Every case is different. I think how early they catch it, age and how your health was before diagnosis has a lot to do with it.
