Rhonda,
Don’t let anyone tell you there are no symptoms with Smoldering MM. There are. I have been Smoldering for 3 years. It’s exhausting to take a shower, or change sheets. The simplest stuff I took for granted, is not easy anymore. Give yourself some grace. Rest between activities. I find taking B complex vitamins, helps with my energy. Nutritional yeast also. I have neuropathy, so I take 2 heaping teaspoons of Bob’s Red Mill Nutritional Yeast in the morning and now at night, with Cashew milk, since I’m allergic to cow’s milk. A little Manuka honey makes it taste better.

It is absolutely not in your head! Fatigue is one of the most common and challenging symptoms experienced with myeloma, and it's very real.

There are several reasons why fatigue can occur, including:

- Anemia – myeloma can disrupt bone marrow function, reducing red blood cells and oxygen delivery to your body
- Cytokines – inflammatory proteins released by white blood cells can cause prolonged fatigue
- Pain – bone pain or treatment-related discomfort can drain your energy
- Emotional stress – the anxiety and worry that comes with a myeloma diagnosis is exhausting in itself
- Poor sleep, nutrition, or hydration – these lifestyle factors can make fatigue significantly worse One MyMyelomaTeam member shared, "I never realized how exhausting it is to do laundry — I keep having to stop and rest."

The important thing to know is that fatigue is worth discussing with your care team. They can help identify what's driving it and suggest ways to manage it, whether that's addressing anemia, adjusting medications, or supporting your mental health.

Be kind to yourself — your body is working hard! 💙
