I spoke to my oncologist this morning...kind of a longish conversation and I want to find out more than what online info. has to say to get a handle of what is going on in my head. I'll leave it here for now but I need more information. Please point to where I can learn more
Kathryn, it does take an expert to tell the difference between new and older lesions you could have had for a long time. Especially if you didn't have imaging at the beginning for comparison. I'm glad you are getting the Cloneseq test. It tells how many myeloma cells are present out of a million cells.
I a ruptured appendix back in 2020, during the height of Covid. 🙄 Anyway, of course they did a CT of my abdomen to figure out what was wrong. I have some old lesions on my pelvis. I didn't know I had. I guess they were old, I asked my doctor about them. He just said myeloma patients get them. They don't hurt. My labs are good. So I just keep walking. I get bone marrow biopsy next Friday. I'm hoping it's still good.
Kathy, it’s easy for me to tell you not to stress. Easier said than done, right! My husband is starting chemotherapy tomorrow, and this is the most daunting thing we’ve ever faced. I try to keep busy, although I can’t do a lot physically. I just keep it moving. After I finish praying to Jehovah for endurance and strength, I take a deep breath and start the day❤️
Kathryn’s great adventure!! Hang in there. When we only get some information our brains spin out of control. And that’s only human. Keep positive and stay strong you can handle whatever comes your way! 102 is a lot of candles to blow out! But I bet you’ll be able to do it!
I too had head lesions. My oncologist referred me to a neurologist. There are several tests that can be done to determine your case. Good luck. I'm happy to say that chemo took care of my issue.
