Hi Joseph, my IgM levels have been in the dumps Low ever since the very first lab that identified me as having MM. I do believe it is definitely tied to my having frequent and long lasting illnesses. I've questioned my Oncologist and the response is they will never come to normal. Also feel their is very little research of IgM and it's role in the MM journey

IgM antibodies are important first responders in your immune system, found in your blood and lymph system. They help identify foreign substances and "remember" previous infections. In myeloma, doctors look at IgM levels as part of understanding your overall protein and antibody profile.

IgM myeloma is actually very rare - if you have abnormal IgM proteins, your healthcare team will likely want to do additional testing to ensure accurate diagnosis and proper treatment planning. Your healthcare team will look at several different blood tests together to understand your protein levels, including:

• Serum Protein Electrophoresis (SPEP)
• Quantitative Immunoglobulin Tests
• Immunofixation Tests
• Serum Free Light Chain Testing

These tests work together to give doctors a complete picture of your antibody levels and help guide treatment decisions.
