I think MM sucks but it’s not going to keep me from enjoying some Jack every now and then. I also eat ice cream and donuts sometimes. I really cut back on it all but I think we should enjoy each day as much as we can and not let MM take anything else.

I may have a few drinks on weekends with no ill effects. Working out and eating well flushes most toxins out of your body. The 49er's have a game this Saturday a few miles from my place I may go and enjoy a few drinks there.

I like to have a drink at weekends in moderation of course my tipples are red wine, occasionally cider or a nice IPA and I'm fine with it I am not on maintenance therapy and remission for a while,my personal opinion is keep doing what you enjoy because you never know when life is going to kick you up the bum.

The impact of alcohol during myeloma treatment varies among individuals. Some MyMyelomaTeam members report being able to enjoy occasional drinks, while others experience negative effects. One member shared that even a small glass of wine made them very ill while on medications, while another was able to celebrate their 100-day checkup with a glass of wine after getting doctor approval.

Here are key concerns about alcohol during myeloma treatment:

• Can interfere with certain chemotherapy medications
• May worsen treatment side effects like mouth soreness
• Can weaken your immune system further
• May affect bone marrow and blood cell production The most important step is to have an honest conversation with your oncologist about alcohol consumption. They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific treatment plan and medical history. If you do get approval to drink and notice any negative effects like fatigue or illness, it's recommended to pause alcohol consumption and focus on your treatment and healing.
