You should also research and ask your doctor about BiSpecific Antibodies. This is the new therapy to replace Car-T. It does not involve cell harvesting and programming. Both therapies report very high response rate, but it is still too early to report its effectiveness. Both also have lethal side effects.

I had a stem cell and a CarT cell transplant. The stem cel lasted 11 months but the CarT lasted over 4 yrs. The CarT was nothing like the stem cell. I was about 30 percent as bad. I would not do the stem cell again. I would do the CarT cell if I could again. You will go through a rigorous preexaime, then cell draw, about 3 weeks to make your cells and then the CarT procedure. It is not a piece of cake but it was so nice to live a normal life for 3 yrs after. You will come back physically way quicker. I was back physically within 3 months, not a year. I would do it again if I could. Go for it. God protect you during the procedure.

Though less commonly used, there is Donor Based Transplants. When it works, it's a complete recovery forever and I believe without any maintenance.

Allogeneic stem cell transplant: This type of transplant uses stem cells from a donor who does not have multiple myeloma. Ideally, the donor is related to the recipient, but if there is no suitable related donor, stem cells from an unrelated donor are used.

Mini transplants: This type of allogeneic transplant uses lower-dose radiation and less toxic chemotherapy to reduce the risk of allogeneic stem cell transplant–associated complications.

Once again I apologize. I read your question wrong. Car T not SCT was what you wrote. All I can say is everyone is different and reacts differently. Most people who post about Car T say is was much easier than SCT. Check out old Questions and Answers. There have been many posts about it. I hope you can find some answers.💕

You should read @A MyMyelomaTeam Member story. Some Oncologists are not recommending SCT if you are responding to treatment. I highly recommend Dr Branded book “Beat Back Cancer Naturally.”
