Hi - just wondering if anyone in maintenance has ever had a low neutrophil number? I ended up getting IVIG to boost up the number. Doctor didn’t seem to concerned since the other numbers are ok but I’m just curious to see if anyone has experienced this before and what the reason for it was. Thank you 😊
MarkB it sounds like we are on similar treatments. My maintenance after my SCT is revlimid (lower dose of 10mg) same type of cycle as you and dara once a month. I’ve been lucky enough to not get sick. This is the first time they’ve dipped so low. Hoping the infusion helps. Thanks for the input!
My sons were low for almost 3 weeks after his 12/13/18 SCT. The lowest was 0.32 on Christmas Day. They dipped slightly to 1.34 on 03/27/19 and were normal for a full year before they dipped to 1.41 on 04/26/20. Never low enough to warrant treatment. Otherwise his neutrophils have remained in the normal range, which is 1.56 - 6.45 X10(9)/L. Some labs use different values so thought I should include the X10(9)/L to avoid confusion.
Hope that provides some reassurance and the IVIG does the trick!🐞
Hi Clara, IVIG is for low immunoglobulins. Mine are very low. I haven't had infections, so I haven't had infusions yet. They give growth factors like Neupogen, Zarxia for low neutrophils. They are our white blood cells. Hope this helps💕
Happens all the time on Rev maintenance. I get IVIG every month and have for two years. All good.
I've been battling this for quite a while. It is due to my maintenance Revlimid. I do 21 days on the 7 off, but often the 7 off were not enough to recover and I'd have to defer my Daratumamab injection for an extra week(get it monthly). The other issue is this being low opens one up to infections. I was getting very sick about every 2 to 3 months and needing antibiotics. My doctor finally put me on an IgG infusion monthly which was helping although I've just gotten sick again. May have to due with the type of MM you have. Mine's Lambda Light Chain. Good Luck
