My transplant doctor puts anyone with IgG under 300 on IVIg infusions. Ive been on them monthly since 2020, and my numbers just now went up to 800!

In it they mentioned for these new trials, they don’t wait for antibody levels to drop below a threshold, but start them from the first cycle. He says Insurance companies push back, but they think it is essential to prevent infections.

It was three years after SCT that I had IVIG infusions as I had 3 colds one after another. Haven't had a cold since and still have infusions monthly

I have been on it for almost 11 years. Seems my immune system never rebooted after transplant. Sometimes I get a headache after but that’s it for side effects.

I haven’t had a SCT, but I can share my IVIG story- which I’m repeating on here. My immunoglobulins have been stable over the past year but I couldn’t shake a chest cold I caught last summer that continued well into the fall. My dr suggested monthly IVIG infusions starting last October and it cleared the cold from my system quickly. Haven’t had a cold since then and I stopped the infusion in April. Seems to be no big thing. I would discuss getting an infusion just to boost your immunity so you can better fight an infection- especially as we get into the fall cold and flu season.
