I have been taking acyclovir twice daily (morning and evening) for about 3 years now as part of my treatment plan.
My hematologist has kept me on it because I am receiving ongoing myeloma treatment and also high risk myeloma and it helps reduce the risk of shingles and certain viral infections while my immune system is suppressed.
So far, I have tolerated it well and have continued taking it as prescribed.
It seems quite common for myeloma patients on long-term treatment or maintenance therapy to remain on acyclovir for several years.
Wishing you all the best.
