Lenalidomide (Revlimid) is the most commonly used maintenance therapy and at least 20% of people experience one or more side effects. These can include:

- Diarrhea or constipation
- Fatigue
- Swelling in the arms or legs
- Insomnia (difficulty sleeping)
- Muscle cramps or spasms
- Abdominal or back pain
- Nausea
- Fever
- Respiratory or digestive tract infections
- Cough or shortness of breath
- Rash
- Dizziness
- Loss of appetite
- Tremors
- Changes in blood counts

I'm a case study of one. Kaiser Permanente took me off all chemo in 2010. No 'maintenance ' drugs since then. Kaiser is both an insurer and a health care provider. There is no money to be made by keeping me on 'maintenance' drugs, hence no profit motive. Google: ProPublica, the price of remission
