Paula, I have not heard of that but I will look into it.
Actually, an elevated free light chain result is more likely to cause kidney problems than an elevated Kappa light chain result. The kappa light chains are smaller than the free light chains, so they don't clog up the kidneys so much. Your husband does have a mildly elevated BUN and elevated Creatinine, not high enough to scream about, but worth keeping an eye on, for sure. Don't want it to get worse.
Paula, yes he is a.multiple myeloma oncologist. We had originally been in Kansas City University Hospital and the dr we had there and his Dr now are communicating about treatment. I looked up Aspheris and I am going to talk to him about it when we see him this next week.
Judy,
Google your doctor to see if they are a MM Specialist.

Have they talked about Apheresis, which removes the bad plasma out of the blood? Goggle says… Apheresis filters out the circulating light chains, theoretically preventing further immediate kidney damage, while on treatment.
