I have had myeloma since 2004. Stem cell transplant in 2007, lasted 5 years and have been on various medication since, revlimid mostly. Now doing trispecific treatment. It is new. You will be fine.

What an inspiring question — and a great reminder that long-term remission is absolutely a real possibility!
One MyMyelomaTeam member shared this encouraging update: "I've been in remission for five years and feel fine. I just have a doctor phone call every 13 weeks."

While that's not quite the 12-15 year milestone being asked about, it shows that extended remission after SCT and maintenance is happening for real people. Here's what the research says about long-term remission after SCT and maintenance therapy:
- Maintenance therapy with lenalidomide sustained remission for at least 57 months (nearly 5 years) in 50% of participants after SCT
- Many doctors now recommend staying on maintenance therapy indefinitely, as longer treatment appears more effective
- Reaching MRD-negative status (no detectable cancer cells) is a key goal that makes longer remission more achievable
The five-year survival rate has doubled over the past 30 years, meaning longer remissions are becoming more common. The community would love to hear from those hitting those 12-15 year milestones — keep sharing those stories!

Yes to trispecific. It is new and I have had only 3 treatments, but one if my numbers is undetectable. Hope it keeps working. Ask your physician about it if you need treatment. Feel better and you will be ok. Lots of meds available today.

Nick, I was too far gone and rejected for SCT in 2008. Off any form of chemo since 2010. MM did cost me both knees and 5" of spine. I'm 84, shooting for 100.

Good question! I am only 4 years post SCT and on Lenalidomide and would love to hear from the “long haulers”! 😊
