Looks good to me. Light chains are bouncy when they’re low. These are antibodies, so they bounce in response to any attack on your immune system - winter colds, flu, vaccines, infections of sorts, sniffles…I use to sweat the numbers when they climbed even the slightest bit, but not anymore. Non MM causes both light chains to raise together while MM causes one light chain to rise. Mine are always elevated, mostly in the 50’s due to IVIG immune booster IVs over the winter.

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member My light chain numbers go up and down. The way my MM specialist explained it was that they look at the forest and the trees - they look at light chains, the ratio, the M spike and other markers in your bloodwork together to determine if there is a relapse. The numbers go up and down all the time.

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member Light chain numbers don’t look concerning by themselves. 1.39 is within the normal range.A slightly high kappa alone can happen with inflammation, infection or recovery not always mean relapse.Doctor always just monitor .

At least my protein phosphorus is and has been good for years now; normal protein pattern......or other ways of saying, " nothing to see here"!

I looked at my graph and the Kappa goes up and down..... my oncologist said I'm doing fine, so maybe I should just believe him; a plasmacytoma is being watched and I'll get another MRI late this month......now I wonder if the cytoma is not the only one in my body. SO, questions questions questions......next consultation.
