• Consider using compression socks (check with your doctor first)
• Elevate your legs when sitting or lying down For weight management with myeloma:

• Work with your healthcare team to develop a safe exercise routine

• Maintain a healthy, balanced diet rich in essential nutrients
• Consider working with a physical therapist who can create a personalized exercise plan that accounts for your condition
• Stay consistent with approved activities rather than attempting intense workouts

Weight gain is an issue for me as well. I do take steroids and unable to walk so that does contribute, I'm sure.

Hi Sandra,
Your questions sound like they are coming from me! I have foot, ankle and leg swelling . I have tried ice packs, compression socks and rub in creams. I have difficulty walking due to ankle pain and compression fractures in my back.
I also find losing weight to be impossible.
If you find out answers that work for you, please share.

Hi Sandra. I couldn't lose weight until they let me get off the steriods. I had to totally give up sugar and processed carbs. I do eat deserts made with monkfruit sweetener. I eat lots of protein eggs, ground turkey, and chicken. I'm hoping with the help of your doctors and maybe physical therapy you will be able to walk more.

I’m interested in the same issues. I’ve gained but it’s not consistent, my weight is up then down then up again. Exercise is great for feeling better, burns the calories too.
Medications effect everyone differently, it’s so hard to know 100% if they are contributing to weight gain but I know they can, especially the steroids.
Try walking everyday, I can swear by it. It gives me energy and I’ve lost weight!
