Just keep in mind the more pills we take the more WATER intake is DEMANDED because of our MM monitored kidneys. Pills can be dehydrating. We must get with our oncologist about every pill we digest.

When I was on Revlimid / Lenalidomide, I had to speak to the pharmacist each month prior to them shipping the pills. They were aware of everything I was taking and never advised me to stop any of the supplements.

My doctor may approve but I always check with a pharmacist also. A pharmacist will tell you if supplements work together with your therapy, when to take, how much, and frequency. I've learned alot by working with my pharmacist.

I want to caution everyone about taking supplements because long term usage can cause problems. In 2015, when I was first diagnosed with MM, I was taking supplements, exercising and drinking tons of water, but I was negatively impacted by Zinc. It actually caused toxicity in my blood. Also, magnesium started to cause me issues approximately 2 years ago so I had to stop taking them. I just started back taking them for the leg cramps per my doctor's directive, but they're not working so I will likely stop taking them. I agree that you should speak to your doctor and drink plenty of water. Also, ensure your bloodwork includes them screening the vitamins in your blood. One thing we need to keep in mind is vitamins and even the chemo we take isn't one size fits all...speaking with your doctor to tailor your needs is key. Blessings everyone. LindaPC, we're on the same chemo regiment.
