I had my cardiac MRI last week . Below is my cardiac MRI results. This chemo regimen with Kyprolis typically does heart damage to about 25% of MM patients. Lucky me to be in that 25%. Not! Ugh!
The left ventricle (LV) is moderately dilated with moderately reduced systolic function (LVEF= 43%). There is global hypokinesis. A normal EF is between 55% and 70%. A lower EF can be a sign of heart failure.

I had the same chemo treatment when I had mm,,luckily reading this i had no complications..and I'm happy I'm cured of mm

My heart attack was 4 years ago. I couldn’t care for myself for over a week. I couldn’t lift my arm to brush my hair. I would need a 2 hour nap after taking a shower while sitting down. I think CoQ10 and Vitamin E complex has helped mine recover. Also, I eat lots of berries, which are supposed to help with atherosclerosis, which I had too.

Hi Paula, my oncologist/hematologist is looking at some other means of controlling the cancer, and conferring with the Fred Hutch cancer center, about a different type of treatment. Meanwhile, some of the damage has been done.

I googled Kyprolis (Carfilzomib) but it does not list the studies, but it does list some side effects. Have you read it? Pretty scary stuff, but then if you listen to and drugs Ads it’s scary. What to do? Has your doctor given you another choice?
