On the question of heart issues, first let me say I was diagnosed with MM in Jan. "23. Large lesion on my left shoulder that resulted in a bizarre fracture of my scapula on a fall the day after Christmas. I am 72yoa. I had my first of three heart attacks in 1998. Have had 9 stents put in my coronary arteries. While my ejection fraction has weakened over time, it is now 45-50%, and has nothing to to with my MM. So far, I am unaware of any cardiac issues related to the MM. Despite very bad bone on bone knees, resulting from running 30,000 miles from 1983-2008, I am able to walk 30 minutes every morning or ride the stationary bike the same amount of time in the evening, again with no cardiac issues.

I have SVT. I am not on treatment for MM. My oxygenation on an airplane flight from Orange County, Ca to Everett, WA was 88 the whole way. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Cardiologist says I can still fly. Vitamin E complex helps get oxygen to your body. It also thins the blood and can prevent blood clots. Check with your doctor if this is right for you. If you are on an anticoagulant you will need the doctor’s help to lower your dose.

I should add Jim, that my first two heart attacks happened when I moved to Great Falls Montana, elevation of my home 3500 ft., from Safety Harbor, Florida elevation of my home 35 ft. I moved back to Florida so my family would be close to our extended family in case I died of a heart attack, and still haven't had the by-pass surgery they wanted to do in Montana, ran another 15,000 miles after moving back and generally have a pretty strong heart. I remain absolutely convinced that altitude was a major factor in my heart issues.

My husband developed Afib due to strep pneumonia when he was in ICU. This was before he started treatment. He takes metoprolol for his Afib and has no problems with it.
