Members rallied around someone experiencing multiple myeloma relapse symptoms like thirst, back pain, rash, and weakness while waiting for new treatment, offering both emotional support and practical advice. Several members shared that these symptoms are common with MM flares and encouraged requesting a full myeloma panel every three months, using MyChart to track results, and visiting an MM specialist like those at MD Anderson. A recurring theme was self-advocacy, with many urging the original poster to ask for regular cancer blood tests and to consider switching doctors if their oncologist is not ordering appropriate myeloma-specific labs.

Angie, your oncologist doesn't do a myeloma panel every 3 months or so? Can you get another oncologist?

Angie, I had some of these symptoms when my myeloma was elevated. I'm hoping your treatments make you feel better soon. 🥰

Angie. Any one or all are symptoms of M/M. I have about half of them. Lower back esp. Have you had a PET scan recently?
As M/M affects bone and joints, it may help to know what is going on. I had a scan and it revealed 9mm hole in upper hip. Had radiation , my light chain numbers are way down so there is no added cancers. Had 25 radiation treatments ,5 months chemo, SCT done 8 months ago. After liver and kidney malfunctions due.to meds, All is back to normal so far. All these chemicals can have far reaching effects. I went to eye Dr yesterday, and now need cataract surgery . Did not have conditioñ two years ago. Now from steroid meds it has been a.. accelerated. ..... And so the circus goes on. Keep the faith Angie
Stuff will improve with time and patience,r
