For myeloma patients with kidney involvement, staying well-hydrated is crucial. It's recommended to drink 2-3 liters of water daily to help support kidney function. This is especially important as proper hydration can help manage creatinine levels.

A balanced, nutritious diet is essential while undergoing myeloma treatment. The Mediterranean diet approach may be beneficial, focusing on plant-based foods, lean proteins, and healthy fats while limiting red meat and added sugars. Since your kidney function is affected, it's important to work directly with your healthcare team, particularly a dietitian who can create a personalized meal plan that takes into account your specific kidney function levels. They can help monitor how different foods may affect your creatinine levels and adjust recommendations accordingly.

Many MyMyelomaTeam members have found success with plant-based diets, incorporating plenty of vegetables and moderate amounts of protein. However, given your kidney involvement, specific protein amounts should be determined by your healthcare team.
