Dan, I'm now reading The Cancer Revolution by Leigh Erin Connealy, MD.
Oh my.
Wish I had read this earlier but this is the time. Better late than never as they say.
This. Is. Good! 👍
I would also suggest, besides Donna's great advice, to go read @A MyMyelomaTeam Member's story! A wealth of information on supplements and food, keeping him in remission.
My D3 was low. I take D3 daily. I take b complex and alpha lipoic acid to prevent neuropathy. I also take tumeric and curcurmin. I only take a gram each day.
Sadly, I had no clue of the study so I was taking alpha lipoic for a little while while on borti.
Did it help my neuropathy?
Not really.
Did it make the myeloma cells increase? Probably.
So, not taking it. Ever.
I just read that on page 201 too, ha, i thought he meant ‘you may want to forego taking alpha lipoic acid on your bortezomib days.’ In other words, the conflict is while taking the ALAcid with the bortez drug, however, Brandy chose not to take it anyway. Study 51 seems to relate it back to the bortez drug again. What is your interpretation Miriam? Is he saying better safe than sorry or just don’t take it w bortez? He does say that ALA ‘may cause myeloma cells to become more viable’…so, while u were taking it, did it help ur neuroapathy???? I’m not taking any treatment yet, it was on my supplement list until i read the aforementioned information. Thanks
