John,
There are different types of jaw pain. The type that feels like a vice, squeezing your jaw, may be cardiac related. Others may have to do with an infection or osteonecrosis of the jawbone. Best to have it checked out.

I wear dentures.hematologist doesn't think there will be a problem. I hope he is right.
I get some TMJ a few times, never lasts too long, right side and I did go to dentist before diagnosis for my jaw TMJ, gave me a steroid and a month later when I finally got in with oncology I was diagnosed. I think it’s one of my symptoms or when my body has extra inflammation.
I’ve had recurring jaw pain on the right side, and I don’t know what is causing it either
I first had a top plate aged in my teens - they were not easy...
at the turn of the century, I was a guinea pig - ie tester of a new system.
the top plate is v secure but not a nuisance or uncomfortable or difficult to remove; all because the dentist had made it fit exactly
the lower plate is solidly attached to 5 titanium posts.
the ceramic plates are v strong - nothing like last century's plastic= no more chipping or cracking.
there were no changes in any of these when I began drugs for MM's treatments in Oct 2022.
the ceramic and the titanium does not show any problems- and they are now at least 26 years old.
congratulate your hematologist for guessing correctly - your dentures should survive.
tell me.... what are yours made of?
from k in western Australia - where we do a lot of things differently to those in your side of the globe.
sorry for prattling along about my dentures
if the treatments causes ulcers, you may find eating a little difficult.
each mouthful should not be large. and, if using mouth-wash [which I have no need for] don't make it too strong.
keep your mouth and plate as clean as poss.
o- I'm soooo sorry. I just can't give a simple short answer. :-(
