Thank you. I have found that a positive attitude is great medicine. My doctors want me to do a second collection, and I'm scheduled for the end of March. I talk to my oncologist this Thursday. He agreed i should try a second collection. Just looking for anyone who has experienced a second collection and how it went. Thanks for your comments! Hope you have a good day.

Brenda, I had 2 separate stem cell collections done. Collected enough to do 2 transplants if needed. I didn't have any problems with either collection process. In June/2023 I had stem cell transplant done. I've been in remission since. Should I relapse I'm not sure I would go thru with a 2nd transplant. From what I've been reading a 2nd transplant is not nearly effective as the first. Wishing you the best.

I had to do a few collection days. The first attempt they used the gcsf shots and mozobil. I couldn’t get enough. Then I had cytoxan followed by more shots and mozobil. I finally got enough to do the transplant.

Hi Brenda921,I had a stem cell collection failure in 2023 and have been on maintenance therapy since ,I have multiple myeloma diagnosis two years ago ,had a very low white blood cell count for 3 1/2 years before diagnosis.my oncologist hasn't suggested anything else as yet.
Keep asking questions and research, plus include palliative care they help with a lot of things designed around quality of life.
I am still fighting as best I can , be gentle with yourself and others our cancer not only affects us but family and friends too.
Try to keep as STRESS FREE as possible.
Kind regards Fiona.
