My first month included sleepless nights surfing medical websites to find legitimate info. Some people want to know everything; some people are happy with just what the doctor tells them. I have learned Doctor time is not about educating us, but about saving lives & doing research for which I am grateful.
In month 2, I found a support group in the Bay Area that is info-rich. Caregivers &/or patients are welcome to join the monthly ZOOM meetings. They also have dozens of links to good info websites. Here’s the link

Agree with Ripnlips … RVD is standard of care. Remembering the black hole of my first month after diagnosis. Looked up your Cary, NC and you are lucky to be near Duke Blood Cancer Center. A myeloma specialist on your team is a big plus if your oncologist is not.

It's good to have a oncologist who drives right into treatment after a solid diagnosis. Is he on RVD? That's pretty much the standard now and it worked for me. Learn as much as you can about these drugs. Especially side effects and as so as he gets them, report it to your oncologist and get a treatment plan for it. Good luck with treatment and I'll be praying for success.
