Does anyone get low RBC,hemoglobin and platlets from treatment or just in General? What does your doctor do?

James’s My B12 and Iron both are low I had to get B12 shots for 7 weeks. Then had to get Iron three weeks in a row. I take B12 and Iron but it still went low. But it all seems better now. I love when people ask questions because it’s a learning experience for us all.

Greetings from Alaska my red blood count is low, but I contribute that to revlimid. When I am off Revlimid and I get my blood work done, my red and white blood count all come back in the normal range. I had one blood transfusion before my SCT and platelets after my SCT I have not needed any others since. I eat a liver at least twice a month just before my treatment time other than that I do not take any iron supplement. God bless you and hang in there.

I had a couple of transfusions of platlets when I had my transplant but not since. This year I am on new meds. Once my platelets were too low and the doctor just skipped the treatment so they could build back up. I have also been mildly anemic, which has been new. The doc has given me an iron infusion both times which consisted of two treatments that he did when I was getting my regular Darzalex treatment. The first time it brought things back to normal. I just had my second so we will see if that brought it back to normal again. A friend of mine is continually anemic and she takes this supplement which she totally believes in. So we have started taking it because my husband also found himself anemic! It is MegaFood Blood Builder Iron. It says it is "clinically shown to increase iron levels without side effects,"

Mine is slightly low and mild anemia. Doctor wasn’t too concerned just wants to keep a good check on it. She put me on iron and vitamin B12

I have gotten three red blood transfusions over the first year. Platelets now also issue on velcade.
Also had shots for neutropenia and hospitalization several times for blood issues. A combination of treatments and the disease itself are the causes.
Discouraging but I carry on!
