My pain is constant unless I take 10 mg of Percocet every 5 hours

I started this journey 15-16 years ago. They FINALLY figured it out after I had 7 compression fractures. The back pain would bring me to my knees. They finally sent me to a pain doctor who started me on a fentanyl patch, which now everyone is scared about. They also gave me a bone strengthener which caused my fractures to stabilize so that pain stopped. The bone pain isn't bad at all, but then again I am on a fentanyl patch. The only pain I have suffered from has been rib pain. I had a year of that which even my patch didn't touch. It came and would go and they seemed to think it ws linked to how active the MM was in my bones. They said they didn't realize it was as active as it was because my blood tests were so good. They put me on treatment and it went away. I still have a bout of it here and there but it is not constant. I found with my rib pain that if I sat down and babied my ribs and treated them with ice at the very beginning, it wouldn't get as bad and would go away faster. However no one really felt they knew for sure what was causing it but said the MM patients often complained of rib pain. I hope you find some relief. They stabilized my bones with Zometa and that seemed to help. Are they treating you with anything like that?
