I have a zometa infusion every three months that helps strengthen the bones. I also take a calcium with vitamin D3 twice a day. I also eat foods with high calcium. I have had a spinal fracture as well as a rib fracture due to MM so I do whatever I can to increase my calcium intake.
They usually give it every 3 months for a couple of years. It depends on how bad your bone disease is π
Hi Irma,
I have severe osteoporosis and have broken a lot of ribs. Iβve started eating non-sweetened yogurt with fresh fruit for breakfast with Vitamin D3 & K2, which helps the bones absorb the calcium. Later in the day, I take MRM bone maximizer III with MCHA. And with of course Vitamins D3 & K2. Weight bearing exercise is supposed to help. I canβt do that, so I walk.
Yes my endocrinologist advised 1200 mg of calcium in food, not supplements. So, because I like Costco's almond milk - plain - only 30 calories, and each cup has 600 mg. I also take Prolia every six months.
I had to get a rod placed in my right femur due to a fracture and lesion they found. I'm still dealing with pain, especially when I stand up.
