@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
Did your Orthopedic surgeon tell you to start calcium supplements? My dad broke his hip and that’s what they told him. I take MRM Bone Maximizer III 12-1400mg a day. I take e tea D3, K2, Vitamins C, A and E complex. It’s working. My terrible hip pain is almost gone. My fingernails are growing rapidly and my high blood calcium came down, with the extra D3 & K2. I hope this helps.

Dawn,
By taking supplements you can shorten your healing time. I take MRM Bone Maximizer III (1200-1400mg/day) which has Calcium, Magnesium and other supplements in it. I take extra D3 for absorption, K2 so Calcium goes to the bones, Vitamin C, A and E complex. My nails grow very fast. I take 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 later in the day. @A MyMyelomaTeam Member took TUMS and at a separate time Strontium to repair his shoulder. Click on his name. It will take you to his page and you can read his story.

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member Dr's put me on Xhgeva (?) Anď higher calcium etc. Injection in lower back today. Most of the breaks were at the beginning but keeping my fingers crossed.
My clavicle still hurts but scans show it is healed. It broke on its own, no injury
Back I broke falling off toilet & had kyphoplasty. Back is still achy
I had several teeth break
Fell broke hip. Fixed with gamma nail. It still hurts but it's coming along.
I did not track time healing & some Dr frustrate me saying it's fine, it's great but I am telling them I am in pain.
Dawn,
When MM breaks down the bones, blood tests show higher levels of calcium. I decided when mine were high to do an experiment. I started taking D3 and K2 and my level went down. I added back calcium with extra D3 & K2 and my levels went down more. I’m really happy about that, because I was not feeling good with the high levels. Unfortunately, doctors do not get training on supplements or nutrition. It’s a whole other specialty, so to be safe, they tell you not to take anything. Now my extreme hip pain is almost gone and my fingernails grow long and fast. To me that means my severe osteoporosis is getting better.
