Has Your Bone Pain Improved After SCT? My Brother Had Radiation For Lytic Lesions In Spine - In December. He Has Had Recent MRI Contrast
Says he may have aggravated it on tread mill. MRI showed only tendinitis. He says it feels like shin spints. He can only walk about 10 minutes before he starts to feel pain. Only resting helps it. He just wants to get more mobility back. He is 58 was very active and is in the process of SCT planning for June. Doctor says no lesions present now and his bones are healing due to the Zometa infusions monthly since January.
I had my first zones yesterday. In lots of pain from low back and hip replacement issues. Trying gabapentin but it makes me sleepy
If it feels like shin splints, there’s a possibility of a pinched nerve. A MRI can easily find it if that’s the case. 18 months ago, I went to the ER in extreme pain (something like 190 blood pressure purely due to pain). Once I got an MRI, it showed a fractured L4 pressing on my L4 nerve that terminates at my left leg’s shin. A simple kyphoplasty repaired my L4 which greatly relieved my pain. I still have minor pinching of my L4 and little to no pain most days.
I know that a side effect of Xgeva is bone pain - I expect Zometa has the issue (check their site).
Some antibiotics like levoquin can cause tendonitis. He might benefit from physical therapy. I hope and pray he continues to improve 🙏🥰💗
