What are the blood test indicators that show if one is in remission or if one has relapses

To tell if you have relapsed. A biochemical relapse would be an increased m spike and increased light chains depending on which type of myeloma you have. I am IgG Lambda so I watch to see if my Lambda goes up and my ratio goes down. If you are Kappa myeloma your kappa light chain will go up and so will the ratio.
They usually don't change your meds for biochemical relapse. Maybe tweak it to get the most mileage out of your current protocol. With a true relapse, they look for new bone lesions, increased calcium, anemia, kidney issues. That requires a change of treatment. I hope this helps

if you have kappa/lambda type MM the ratio is also an important number as well as the M-Spike.

Depends on your MM type, my husband has IGG Kappa MM, so most important marker is his Mspike...hope that helps you.
