Hello Samar, I had a transplant in November. I have three kids still at home. One is in college, one in high school, and one in middle school. No mask mandates in their schools. When I first came home from the hospital, my daughter had a rotten cold. She tested neg for covid. I just stayed away from her and wore a mask when we were in shared areas (the kitchen mainly). Everything was fine. Not sure if you're having an autologous or allogenic transplant. Mine was autologous. I agree with Donna's advice; make sure your kids are vaccinated. ❤️

I was in isolation for a month in the hospital after my SCTS and my wife could come and visit but had too get all gowned up. They might let your kids come and visit but I think they are more concerned about the germs your kids could be carrying that doesn’t make them sick but could make you very sick because you will have no immune system too fight the germs off. I don’t know why you would have too be in isolation that long better ask your Oncologist why so long.

Another suggestion when you do come home, you’ll be weaker than you realize. I would build up my strength going up and down stairs and walking. It’s baby steps. Maybe you could hire someone who can help with your children driving them to their activities, helping with homework or housework or cooking. I apologize if I’m overstepping. I really wish you the best❤️
