If one is having CAR-T cell therapy, does one need to be in a clinical trial?

The car-t clinical trial I am referring to is for high-risk smoldering mm at Dana Farber. First time using on pre-active stage to hopefully stop progression.

My husband just had CARt therapy 5/18 w/ Abecma....he is not on a clinical trial.
