What is the difference between MGUS and Smoldering MM?

Is SEVERE pain in my neck and shoulder and moderate pain in other areas characteristic of MGUS? Nothing seems to ease the pain including cortisone injections in the region, Oxycodone-Acetaminophen 5-325 every six hours etc...

Please help...

Thanks,

Don

My palliative care doc put me on methodone. Helped my back and hips but now I’ve had a flare in my hip and pain management injected the hip. Pain is over the top. Said shot could take up to 2weeks. I’m on day 4

Ouch! Have you been scanned to see if there's a structural cause?

My hubby had good results with physical therapy and acupuncture. I don't think you should be having that much pain with MGUS. MGUS isn't cancer. But smoldering myeloma usually does change to myeloma at some point. Have you had imaging studies?
