I Have Increasing Neuropathy In My Feet And Lower Legs And Wonder What Treatments Others Are Having Success Wit
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have weekly acupuncture and also reflexology massage and do episode salt soaks. My primary care doctor is really pushing gabapentin but I have not heard of great results from that either and prefer to keep medications at a reasonable minimum. Am I just being stubborn?

I think it's from the Revlimid which I have taken daily for three years as maintenance. My oncologist says its not 🤷‍♀️

I believe Velcade is the worst offender but Revlimid and Dexamethasone can cause it as well. Reading the Med’s list of side effects, you’ll see neuropathy listed. Some get it very bad, as I did. Most get it quite bad and a few not at all. Not sure of what’s failed to cause the pain but I think it’s a severe circulation failure causing nerve irritation. I expect Dr Google has the details online.

What is the cause of your neuropathy? Is it a reaction to the medication is it possibly due to a diabetic issue or circulatory issue? I have a little bit of tingling in my toes probably from the Revlimid medication, I have not as of yet required any type of medical intervention for that. I do credit daily exercise with helping forestall some of the side effects.

I’ve been on Gabapentin for a year and it never helped. I’ve just changed to Lyrica but it’s too soon to know.

Now at 5 days - a little better than Gabapentin. My Lyrica is 75mg x 2 daily.

People on here have gotten relief with gabapentin. If that doesn't work, they can try Lyrica or Cymbalta. Good luck💕
