Started Daramutumab Infusions 2 Weeks Ago. When I Get Monthly Blood Draw, Is The Test For M Spike Any Different For This Drug Than Others?

I thought I read somewhere that M spike number can be "off" -- and the electrophloresis test not as accurate on M spike while on this drug??

I found out that the M-spike, while on this medication is so small, that it is insignificant. I hope this helps.

It also shows up on immunofixation. Which I am learning, is more precise than the electrophoresis

Immunofixation InterpYour ValueImmunofixation of serum faintly demonstrates the previously identified IgG lambda paraprotein in the far cathodal gamma region and the IgG kappa band in the cathodal gamma region consistent with daratumumab.

Notice I still have a faint Lambda band that did not show up on electrophoresis. I don't have an m spike, but I am still MRD positive.

My lab can differentiate. This is my last electrophoresis

SPE InterpretationYour ValueSerum protein electrophoresis demonstrates severe hypogammaglobulinemia and an IgG kappa band in the cathodal gamma region consistent with daratumumab. The previously identified IgG lambda paraprotein in the far cathodal gamma region is not detected.
