I Have Severe Neuropathy Pain
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

Do anybody suffer with severe neuropathy pain as a result of the chemo received doing treatment and the stem cells transplant. Well I do every day. In addition to that every now and then the severe pain becomes worst than normal. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst it’s a 10 or more. I’m in that stat now as I write this with pain that brought tears to my eyes so I’m struggling to do this because for once I need an answer. Sometimes I feel alone when it happens. Please i have to know is… read more

Yes neuropathy in feet is bad. I am currently taking Cymbalta 1 am and 1 pm which has helped a lot, especially sleeping at night. Dr stopped Valcade , which is a major reason of neuropathy. it's been 4 months now and so much better.

Peggie. You are not alone. I am so sorry your pain is so severe. The neuropathy pain can make you feel like you are losing your mind. I have neuropathy pian from medication. I take gabapentin 2 x a day and it keeps it at bay. I hope you can talk to your doctors about the pain and get more help. It took a while for the gabapentin to build up in my system but as long as I don’t miss I am mostly ok.
I will keep you in my prayers

Tramadol never helped me at all. I take Percocet 3-4 times aday I have what the Doctor called a burst back. Which means my lower back had multiple fractures the only way to fix it is plates and screws and my bones would not hold plates and screws. So I am in a body brace. I have been in it for three
Months and I don’t get a X-ray for a month. Hopefully it will heal

Hi JD, I take cymbalta at night before I go to bed. I take valcade every three months. I didn’t know it was a major reason for my neuropathy. I’ll check with my doctor to stop it however I asked once before some time ago. I also take cymbalta for my mood and I thought that it was the main reason why I was taking it. I Lyrica three times a day for neuropathy seems like it don’t work other than if I stop my body will react as though I need to depend on it. Thank you so much for your advice!
