Hubs was on it via infusion with his Darzalex and dex got it first 7 months. It is for increasing bone density. It’s not wise to take it long term as it can affect your jaw bone, even though it’s for increasing bone density. Have a good dentist with a knowledge of bisphosphonates because dental work can be dangerous to not advisable due to infection and other problems. My husband stopped it when it began to hurt him to open his mouth wide like to yawn. That is the main side effect.

I had Zometa once a month with my chemo before my SCT for 4 months. I’m now in remission, thanks be to God. I’m going to have chemo as a preventative because my multiple myeloma is very aggressive so I will continue once a month with Zometa.
