I was just told that I have a high risk mutation known as translocation 1416 that causes the cancer to come out of remission quicker. I thought I was getting some good news about it being stage 2 but unfortunately the high risk mutation has a huge effect on everything apparently.

I also have trisomy 9 and translocation of 11:14. I don't panic as bad as I use to. You for sure need a world class myeloma specialist when you have high risk mutations. Yes, getting diagnosed with MM was horrible. Then I started reading my labs and freaked out again. I know I'm getting good treatment and I ask God to heal me. Other than that, I try not to think about my crazy chromosomes😉

Yes, I have deletion of TP53. It is associated with increased proliferation and a less favorable prognosis. I had the transplant. I'm on Pomalyst, dexamethasone and Darzalex. My doctors tell me after 3 years of aggressive maintenance, I hopefully will be able to be treated as standard risk.😇
