I understand that MGUS is not MM but is watched carefully because it can change. I am wondering why a PET SCAN? and why a FAT PAD? did anyone else have to have these test when they were diagnosed with MGUS? also - I'd like to hear anyone's stories, suggestions, etc on MGUS. I am new to all this and learning as much as I can. Thank you all.

Just multiple myeloma.
I found out by accident that my doctors notes show me as having stage 3 kidney disease! No one ever mentioned this, and when I asked about it my doctor seemed to think it was no big deal!
Huh. I seriously suggest you get an MM Specialist. I have a regular hematologist/oncologist that I see monthly, but I see a specialist every three months or so because they ONLY do MM and they know so… read more
Is anyone dealing with MM and AL amyloidosis? If so, can you please tell me your symptoms, how do you manage the amyloidosis, and what significant impact does it have on MM and your daily activities? I am going through testing now to see if I also have AL Amyloidosis.
