Hello everyone
My husband got CDE chemo on October 21 and started Neupogen shots on October 26. His stem cell harvesting was started on November 01. He has NOT been given a catheter. His collection is being done using peripheral veins. The aim was to collect 12 million cells in 4 collections, but he has yielded only 6.5 million cells in the first three days of collection. We are not expecting a miraculous harvest today
He has been told to come for harvesting on day 5 (November 07) also. The… read more
A friend of mine had too go twice and barely gave them enough stem cells and they were ready too keep on harvesting. I was lucky that I gave them more than enough cells the first session.
I will have the central line placed tomorrow and the collection, apheresis, 6/15 16. My question is, how do you feel over the next week following the collection?
Thanks,
Howard
I hope you do great with harvesting JD🙏💕
What do you have to share about your experiences with the Stem Cell Harvesting process.
-How long do they take to harvest the stem cells?
- What are the side effects of the medications to enable stem cell harvesting?
- Are there any issues or effects on your body during and soon after stem cell harvest?
- Hoe long does your body feel the impact and time to replenish stem cells?
-Any other input?

we went to a consultation yesterday on stem cell transplant and we need more information on the procedure
Greetings all,
I hope everyone is well. I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with ASCT. Specifically, did anyone do the stem cell transplant experience without a caregiver in the hospital with them?
Thanks
I guess the Chihuahua takes precedence😄
