Has anyone found a way to loose weight or exercise during this period of MM? I gained 25 lbs from massive doses of gabapentin and it is right in the stomach area. I am really struggling with some basic exercises and I become too short of breath to continue. Any tips or thoughts? Thank you
Thank you Donna. I think my appointment is Monday. (I’ll double check that since this week we had an appointment mixed up).

Hi all
I am struggling with the side effects of steroids. I had to start a new treatment three weeks ago and dexamethasone was put back in the mix. I was curious if anyone finds anything helpful for the side effects? I feel the agitation, emotional lability, just a general sense of "craziness." Thanks. I will talk with my oncologist about reducing but I first need to get my labs back in order to remission numbers. Are there treatments without dexamethasone or reduced amounts? Any strength and… read more
I have insomnia the day I take Dexamethasone otherwise I don’t have any other side effects.
I was placed on Xgeva a little over a year ago after having miserable side effects to Zometa. My doctor wanted me on a bone med to prevent/reduce potential bone issues I could tolerate Xgeva better initially, but side effects seem to be worsening over time. Having more chronic muscle and joint achiness. Just had a bone scan and my bones look OK. Just curious if anyone else has had similar side effects to these meds and how you managed this.
Thanks,
Rebecca🙂
They have me doing zometa monthly
Unfortunately, I can't walk very far or stand for very long. I exercise in a chair or laying down. I used to do silver sneakers and step aerobics in my younger years.
My husband was diagnosed with MM in July 2022. He has had chemo and had a stem cell transplant in December. He is very stooped. Are there exercises or physical therapy that can help with that ?
Has he had an mri on his spine. Make sure his spine doesn’t have any mm damage before he does exercise or pt. Best advice is check with your oncologist before he does anything

I was looking at the side effects and most of them are the symptoms I'm trying to get rid of
I promised I would give them a fair trial.

Does anyone use protein powders and or amino acid for recovery from exercise. I have asked my oncologist and he is neutral on the subject. Thanks, be active it’s a great weekend to get out.
After my SCT I was told it would be best to eat 1-1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. For me that meant 60-90 grams/day. I could not get that amount from my food so it was suggested… read more
